I agree, if readers don’t feel connected to the character, they won’t care about what’s happening to them. And as you say, it doesn’t have to be likability, just relatability, but it absolutely does need to be there! So glad you found this one helpful 🙂

I’ve read wonderfully plotted stories that turned me off simply because I didn’t care about the protagonist or his/her problem.
