Thanks so much for good advice here on how to pull it off well in storytelling 🙂

Hi Cris! Thanks for your comment. I must admit, I’m a little stumped here. What about some other readers? Any ideas?

Hi Becca!
I couldn’t agree more. I’m so glad you enjoyed this blog. I love the concept of the “narrative dream.” We suspend our disbelief and enter the narrative world. If anything wakes us from the dream–it’s not working! Thanks so much for commenting!

I’m finding very few titles- most are in outer space or involve time travel.

I read a lot of fantasy, and it drives me nuts when authors try to explain the whole magical system to readers. It doesn’t matter how awesome the magical element is, if you pull me out of the story to give me a tutorial on it, it loses its “magic.”

Thank you, Liz!

I usually write contemporary novels, but I wrote an MG with magical elements in it and can’t wait to dive back into it and revise using your great advice. 🙂
