Great tips and I will be using them all in my next erotica book. Tension is really the entire theme of what I write, tension with a long earned release. Going to be adding character flaws too as that’s a great tip.

Love these tips. One thing that drives me crazy is when the attraction is not communicated. If we can’t see it for ourselves, we won’t feel it, and therefore the tension will feel manufactured.

Great tips, Lucy! For #3, I also like to think of the goals each character has specifically in the relationship. If one person is after one thing but the other is looking for something else, you can get a lot of tension that way, too. Thank you!
