Isn’t it amazing that in the aftermath of a traumatic event we always wonder what we did wrong or what we could have done differently to keep it from happening? When in 99% of those circumstances, there was absolutely nothing we could have done. I’m going to add some of your responses to this entry. Thanks for sharing your experience, Jeff.

In the immediate aftermath, while I was waiting for the ambulance, the overriding feeling was confusion: Why me? What did I do to deserve that? (It was a simple assault, not even a robbery attempt) When I returned to work it took me quite some time before I was able to use the same subway stop, and even then, I experience racing heart, anxiety, etc., while approaching it.
