Mark, in my experience it doesn’t matter. Same word count. My own preference is two pages, double spaced. Unless you are told by an agent or editor what they prefer, do it the way you would most like to read something. Personally, I think double-space is easier on the eyes.

I have two manuscripts to send my agent and still the ever-agonizing synopsis looms over for pitching. It’s like writing…it’s often hard and I want to give up at times, but when it’s done–I’m glad I did it. 🙂 Also, having critique partners and peers to help you knock your synopsis out of the ballpark can be a huge help!

Thank goodness for help like yours found on the internet. Other writers are so helpful!

Thanks for helping me focus.
Question: I keep reading that the synopsis should be SINGLE-spaced and preferably one-page. I’ve read that two pages are okay (with great reluctance) but definitely single-spaced.
Any clarification is appreciated. Thanks!
